Longkloof Precinct

The historic Longkloof Precinct is a major project currently underway in Cape Town. Using adaptive reuse principles, with refurbishment of historic buildings alongside new construction, we’re reimagining the site for Growthpoint Properties into an exciting new precinct that includes one of Cape Town’s newest urban squares. This multifaceted project started life back in 2015. It comprises many phases – including a sensitive architectural adaptation of the historical building at 32 on Kloof completed in 2020. This was the first element of the broader project to be completed and is now home to Workshop17.

A central feature is the 154-key Canopy by Hilton hotel, which is due to open in the first quarter of 2025. The precinct is being integrated into the ground level retail environment facing onto Park Street. A retail alley leads to the central square, which is the culmination of a comprehensive urban design and landscaping strategy to create an urban oasis within the precinct. The location is already bustling with activity and features a new coffee shop and wine bar, Vine and Dandy, which further enlivens the space and reinforces its importance as a place for socialisation and connection.
