Pierre Swanepoel

Pierre studied architecture at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 1994. He thereafter received a Professional Qualification Degree from The Bartlett, University College London in the UK. Before joining dhk Architects in November 2008, he worked in London for 12 years for the internationally renowned David Chipperfield Architects from 2005 to 2008 and prior to that for BUJ Architects between 1997 and 2008.

He has extensive experience in the design and delivery of projects at a wide range of scales and complexities, including high-end multiple-unit residential, commercial office, hotels, public buildings and planning at precinct level. His experience ranges from conceptual design, design development, and construction documentation to implementation on-site. His project experience involves new build projects and several adaptive reuse projects on important heritage buildings, as well as the requirements for sustainable development/ buildings. Pierre has extensive experience in South Africa, the African continent, the UAE and the United Kingdom.
