Walking Tour with dhk Architects

Walking Tour with dhk Architects

4 October 2024

How can a building activate the streets around it? As architectural designers, dhk Architects has shaped the Cape Town skyline over the past 26 years.

Join dhk Partners, Guy Briggs and Pierre Swanepoel, on a guided tour of the Cape Town CBD. An engaging 2.5 hour walk and talk will discuss the importance of creating active streets and public spaces, as well as the use of architecture as a tool to achieve that. dhk’s portfolio includes some of the most iconic buildings in the city centre, including the Taj Hotel, Portside, 35 Lower Long, and the newly completed Rubik, as well as Battery Park, one of the most successful public spaces in the city. The tour is around 3km and is estimated to take about 3 hours, to give enough time to walk and talk. Please bring sunblock, comfortable walking shoes and a bottle of water.
