Sable Corner is an A-grade office building containing four levels of commercial office space, aground floor and two levels of basement parking. Designed for Rabie Property Group, along Sable Road in Century City, Cape Town, the development forms part of a notable and cohesive gateway to the growing Bridgeways Precinct in Cape Town.
The design is influenced by the constraints and possibilities of the island site, as well its location within the existing precinct network and the anticipated link to the future Ratanga Precinct. The building’s double-sided form and striking finned curved face highlights and celebrates the irregular shape of the site, contrasting a formal dark regular block-like edge. The dual faces of the building respond to the site’s views and corroborate the strength of the corner location as an access point to Ratanga Precinct.
Drawing from local typology, the office floors sit above a landscaped parking podium. An elevated ground level creates a visible presence for tenants. Sable Corner forms a striking edge to the major road, while responding to the views of Cape Town’s CBD and Table Mountain. It’s one of several buildings we’ve designed in Century City. Visit the others at Sable Park, Bridge Park and Axis.
